Coinbase Wallet Browser Extension

Your gateway to Web3: manage crypto, NFTs, and dApps directly from your browser.

What Is the Coinbase Wallet Extension?

The Coinbase Wallet Extension is a non‑custodial browser plugin that enables you to interact with blockchains, manage crypto assets, and connect to decentralized apps without leaving your browser.

Core Features & Benefits

How to Install & Use

1. Installation & Setup

Add the extension via Chrome Web Store or from Coinbase’s official site. Then create a new wallet or import an existing one with a 12‑word recovery phrase. Backup your recovery phrase and set a password.

2. Importing from Other Wallets

You can import wallets from MetaMask, Trust Wallet, etc., by entering your recovery phrase. This does not disable the original wallet.

3. Funding & Transactions

Use the “Receive” button to display your address or QR. To send, input recipient and confirm. To swap, choose token pairs and approve the trade. For dApps, click “Connect Wallet” on the site and confirm via extension.

4. Network Switching & Custom Chains

Switch between supported networks (Ethereum, Polygon, etc.) or add custom ones using EIP‑3085 / EIP‑3326.

Safety & Best Practices

Always keep your 12‑word recovery phrase offline and never share it. Download only from official sources. Review transactions before approving. Lock your wallet when idle and keep browser + extension updated. Use hardware wallets when possible.

Limitations & Considerations

Being browser‑based, it relies on your browser’s security. Sync issues may occur between mobile and extension. Some networks may require manual addition. Gas fees and congestion can affect performance.
